Thru my lens

I was thinking of creating another blog to put up a few of my experiments with my cam. But then, it was easier to maintain one than creating yet another blog among hoards of blogs. One was enough.

So here comes the new page in my blog account, some pictures that I have taken with my DSLR.

I was a bit late to get into the DSLR, but not late enough, as I guess the social network gave it the biggest publicity. Now every Tom and Dick has a DSLR. And there are so many among them who are so talented, that I can only stand in awe like a child who has been to Disneyland for the first time.

I am just a beginner in this, and have taken my own sweet time to move from AUTO mode to the MANUAL mode. Its a great experience, taking pics (although my husband would disagree). The best part being that you can take hundreds of pics and choose the best one, not having to worry about a film...(Thank God to Technology), and you have so many options to choose from- aperture, metering, white balance, shutter , ISO, so many options that can just make your picture better and better, and add another iota of knowledge to your 'hardly used brain'. However, I do not use the post processing part of taking pictures, as I still remain a beginner in this area. But i do use the basic Picasa to make few changes such as crop, add shadow or color etc....

So this area would feature some of my pics, mostly the ones that have a small story behind them, and which I would like to read again, maybe years later.....

Although I couldn't get a clear shot of the water droplets in the picture, I really love the green blurry background, and the different layers to the rose petals....This was just one of the roses that I received as a part of my birthday gift last year from my husband. Although the roses withered away in a few days, the picture is forever etched...

This was one of the few pics that was first shot with my SLR, which was hardly a month old. I was just getting used to the size of the cam, the features and the modes.
